This 29,200 square metre superstore in Logan, is a great example of innovative, environmentally friendly design.
Air conditioning to the superstore is not achieved by traditional air distribution methods, instead it is cooled by a highly efficient system of chilled beams and a chilled water storage system. Chilled water storage tanks also operate as water storage tanks for the sprinkler system.
Each night the water is chilled and during the day it is pumped through the beams, thus providing lower operating costs by using off-peak power rates.
