Kogan Creek Power Station

Located in the western Darling Downs near Chinchilla in Queensland, Kogan Creek Power Station is a coal-fired power station that can provide up to 750 megawatts of electricity.

It contains the largest single generating unit in Australia and has one of the lowest environmental impacts of any coal-fired power station nationwide, with low levels of water consumption and reduced greenhouse gas emissions.

On opening, the $1.2 billion station was heralded as a new era in coal-fired electricity generation due to its efficiency, environmental performance and innovative design.
