Yarwun Refinery
The Rio Tinto Yarwun project is an alumina refinery located at Gladstone.
Air conditioning was put in place for electrical control and switchrooms, to ensure smooth operation of the refinery plant and processing equipment.
Systems incorporated stand by equipment and automated control systems to provide full operating capacity in the occurrence of any unit or component failure.
The installation of air conditioning units, ductwork and controls was carried out as part of the switchrooms construction in Brisbane. The switchrooms were fully constructed, assembled, fitted out and operationally commissioned in Brisbane before being transported to Gladstone.
